Amada Irma Pérez has been a bilingual educator, consultant and presenter for more than twenty-five years. Her teaching experience includes kindergarten through university. She is an advocate of programs that encourage literacy and multicultural understanding. She believes that better communication will lead to world peace. Keynotes and motivational speeches: Amada Irma shares moving and hilarious excerpts from her books and her life and motivates listeners to begin writing from their own lived experiences. She also describes her interesting journey from writer to published author. Audiences will leave charged up and ready to follow their own dreams.
Book Readings and Signings: Amada Irma’s dramatic, interactive presentations of her books can be followed by questions from the audience and personalized book signings.
Cultural Events: Dressed in colorful, festive, traditional Latin American costumes, Amada Irma becomes part of any cultural celebration. She speaks about her life as an immigrant and delivers a positive, powerful message based on her own stories.
Specialized Workshops: Literacy/Writing workshops for students, parents, teachers or other community members are based on readings from Amada Irma’s books as well as other authors’ books. Participants will be guided through the writing process and will create poetry and prose. These workshops are best scheduled as a series of three or more two-hour sessions. Family Stories come to life in anthologies which some schools choose to publish.
Student Assemblies: Students of all ages in kindergarten through university will be entertained with Amada Irma’s stories in a multimedia presentation. They will also learn important writing skills and writers’ craft techniques. They will leave thinking about their own dreams and goals.
